Pro Bono Work
English Speaking Union
The English Speaking Union (Queensland Branch) is a group of people dedicated to promoting international understanding and human achievement through the widening use of the English language throughout the world. The English Speaking Union amongst other things encourages the enjoyment and constructive use of English through educational programmes, provides and creates cultural activities and initiates and administers international youth exchange and work experience programmes.
To maintain the on-going success of this initiative, the Union relies on sponsors and volunteers. Praeger Ellem Solicitors assists the English Speaking Union through Partner, Ralph Praeger acting as an honorary solicitor. Ralph provides pro bono advice on general legal matters and has also provided legal advice on the redrafting of the Union's constitution.
The Outback Foundation
The Outback Foundation was formed in 2001 prior to the ‘Year of the Outback 2002’ and is designed as a national vehicle for funding and programmes for the development of youth services and facilities in rural, regional and remote communities of Australia.
The Foundation works towards giving ‘bush kids’ a fair go, bridging the gap between the city and the country and driving regional revitalisation towards a better nation. Assisting in the achievement of these goals, Praeger Ellem Solicitors and in particular Partner, Ralph Praeger provides pro bono legal advice on general legal matters and has prepared the Foundation's constitution.
